Unfortunately, information is currently unavailable for the early model years of the first generation Highlander (2001-2004). It is assumed to be the same as the other years, but I can't guarantee its accuracy. Additionally, the Highlander has a 5 X114.3 bolt pattern, with each wheel having five lug nuts. The thread size is M12 X1.5, and the head size is 19mm hex. If you're seeking replacements, many aftermarket options may have 21mm heads, which is acceptable as long as you have a lug wrench that fits.

I use an impact wrench to tighten it, aiming for around 76 foot-pounds of torque, but it's okay if it's a bit above that as long as it's not too excessive.

I have a 2021 Toyota Highlander Platinum. The recommended torque for the wheels is between 76ft/lb and 90ft/lb, with the dealer suggesting 85ft/lb. It's important to always double-check the torque after a visit to the dealer. After a recent visit to the Toyota dealer in Chateauguay, QC, I discovered that my wheel torque was exceeding 150ft/lb. Despite the service adviser denying my claim, I am confident in my ability to use a torque wrench properly. Personally, I torque my wheels to 90ft/lb, drive around 100km, and then recheck the torque at the 85ft/lb setting.
