This code is activated when the TRS provides the Engine Control Module (ECM) with an incorrect value. The TRS informs the computer about the position of the shift lever. If it transmits a seemingly impossible input, like stating that the truck is stationary while it's actually moving at 75 mph, this code will show up. Similarly, if the TRS indicates that the vehicle is in more than one gear simultaneously or in other unusual situations, this DTC can be triggered. As with most DTCs, the issue could lie with the ECM or other factors not directly related to the TRS, such as a poorly adjusted shift linkage or dirty transmission fluid. To address this problem, you should identify any accompanying symptoms and investigate them further.
