The Jeep Liberty's check engine light signals an issue with the engine, emissions system, or possibly the transmission - although transmission problems are less likely. Common reasons for this light to illuminate include worn or defective spark plugs, a faulty oxygen sensor, or a loose gas cap. These issues are typically straightforward and cost-effective to resolve. Replacing the spark plugs can cost around $5 to $10 for new ones and takes just about 10 minutes. Swapping out the oxygen sensor is approximately $30 to $40 and can be done in about 5 minutes. If the gas cap is loose, simply tighten it for a quick fix.

Unhooked the battery, the light turned off, drove all day. Started this morning and the light came back on?

The other night, the check engine light came on in my car. When it came back on, I replaced all the CO2 sensors. Now it's idling roughly despite having new coils and spark plugs that are three years old, but good quality ones were installed three years ago. I'm stumped by the issue.
