In 2010 Nissan Maxima, the stability control system is disabled when the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) OFF warning light shows on the dashboard. VDC is a feature found in Nissan vehicles that provides traction control. When activated, the VDC system limits engine power to prevent wheel spin in challenging terrain like snow or mud. To regain full engine power, turn off the VDC system by pressing the VDC OFF button. The engine speed can be reduced even when stepping on the gas pedal. To reactivate the engine, press the VDC OFF switch again or restart the process. Look for the Seeindicator to confirm the system's status. Instructions about the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system can be found in the Starting and Driving section.

I noticed that the car's indicator lights for traction control and VDC OFF are both lit up, and I don't know why. Even when I try to turn off the VDC by pressing the button, it remains engaged. What steps should I take to address this issue?

In the 2010 Nissan Maxima, VDC stands for Vehicle Dynamic Control. When the VDC system is active, the "slip" indicator light will flash (the slip symbol looks like a car with a wet track behind it). Turning off the VDC system will show the corresponding indicator, VDC OFF. The driver has the control to turn off this system, and it can be turned back on by pressing the off switch again or by restarting the vehicle.
