The oil plug on the Chevy Cruze requires a 17mm socket. The vehicle holds 5.4 quarts of 5w-30 oil. Before starting the oil change, ensure the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to avoid hot oil burns. Locate the oil pan and drain plug underneath the engine, place a bucket below the plug, and remove it to allow the oil to drain into the pan. Let it drain completely before reattaching the plug. Then, identify the intake port on the top of the oil pan, use a funnel to refill it with oil but be careful not to overfill. It's okay to be slightly underfull, but overfilling can cause leaks and oil burn off. Once filled, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.

The factory 10mm socket is too small and often strips, so do yourself a favor and switch it out for a 17mm socket. It's more cost-effective and much simpler to replace than the original one. The thread size you need is M14.
