The 2018 GMC Sierra trucks in the 1500 series can weigh between 4,515 to 5,461 pounds, while the 2500HD series ranges from 5,741 to 6,689 pounds. The 3500HD series varies between 5,985 to 7,239 pounds. These weights may change depending on the options you choose for your truck. When you increase the payload and towing capacity of the truck, it also becomes heavier because the frame needs to be stronger to handle the added weight for towing purposes. These weights are fairly standard when compared to other full-size trucks available in the market. GMC has started using more aluminum components in their trucks, which has helped reduce the overall weight of the vehicles in recent years.
