Sometimes the Honda Civic's engine control unit (ECU) may experience issues like a persistent check engine light, loss of spark, overheating ECU, broken pins in the ECU, memory errors in the control module, or the engine shutting off unexpectedly. In some cases, these problems can be resolved by resetting the ECU. To do this, you should drive your car until it is warm, turn off the engine, disconnect the battery, remove the ECU fuse, reinsert the fuse, and start the car without moving it. Allow the car to idle for about 10 minutes. If the issues continue, it's best to bring your car to a mechanic for further inspection.
