There are no unique climate control issues with your BMW 3 Series, aside from the common problems found in most vehicles. At times, you may not get the desired hot or cold air due to issues like vent actuator arm failures, hose leaks, and A/C compressor malfunctions. The control knobs may also break over time. To manually reset the climate control system, try blowing warm air on the interior temperature sensor to increase the fan speed. If that doesn't work, disconnect the battery cables for 10 minutes to reset all systems, not just the climate control.
The primary concerns with the air conditioning and heating system in the BMW 3 Series are a malfunctioning fan motor and a faulty wire causing a short circuit in the air conditioning.
