The automatic transmission in FIAT 500 cars may encounter problems such as refusing to shift or making grinding noises. This component is extremely important for the vehicle's operation, so issues are bound to arise over time. Symptoms to watch for include gears getting stuck, jerky movements, hard shifting, shuddering, slipping gears, and delayed shifts leading to acceleration troubles. Promptly addressing leaks in the transmission fluid is crucial and this fluid should be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Neglecting fluid changes can result in unpleasant noises coming from the transmission, as old fluid can be quite unpleasant to listen to. Additionally, a worn-out torque converter can lead to significant complications.

I have a 2014 Fiat 500 with an automatic transmission and 29,000 kilometers on it. The actuator arm and clutch have burnt out, and unfortunately, it's no longer under warranty. It seems to be a factory issue that Fiat South Africa is not acknowledging, despite reports of similar issues worldwide. I'm looking to reach out to Fiat Italy directly. Does anyone have their contact information? Thank you, Janice.
