The rear camera on the 2012 Cadillac SRX may experience a couple of issues. The main problem is power interruption, which can occur in two ways. The less common scenario involves damage to the wire supplying power to the camera. The more frequent issue is a faulty fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel on the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open it. Inside, you'll find several fuses. Look at the diagram on the back of the panel or refer to the owner's manual to identify the fuse you need. Remove the fuse by pulling it out - if the thin metal strip connecting the two sections is broken, the fuse needs to be replaced, but if it's intact, you can reinsert it. A new fuse will cost around $10, making it an affordable fix.

Water has infiltrated the cameras. I recently purchased a second camera to replace the first one, only to discover that the interior was damp and rusted. I have not yet replaced the new camera I installed, but I anticipate encountering the same problem. It's frustrating.
