The 2011 Chevy Equinox is experiencing issues with its catalytic converter, resulting in decreased engine performance and reduced acceleration. Numerous engine problems may arise, such as loose gaskets needing immediate tightening, oil leaks requiring prompt repair, and spark plugs potentially causing engine malfunction. A serious concern is the risk of engine overheating, which could lead to car fires and even vehicle explosions. Additionally, excessive oil consumption necessitates quick oil changes. It is recommended to replace the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, change the coolant every 60,000 miles, and swap out spark plugs every 100,000 miles unless they are copper spark plugs, which should be changed every 30,000 miles or so.
