In the 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, there are known issues with the powertrain control module (PCM) that can cause engine stalling and misfires. Various engine problems can arise, such as loose gaskets needing prompt tightening, oil leaks needing immediate repair, and spark plugs potentially coming loose and causing engine issues. A critical concern is engine overheating, which can lead to car fires and even explosions. Additionally, there may be excessive oil consumption, necessitating quick oil changes. It's recommended to change the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, the coolant every 60,000 miles, and the spark plugs every 100,000 miles unless they are copper, in which case they should be changed every 30,000 miles or so.
