This problem may also occur with the gas-powered 5-speed automatic transmission, but it is more prevalent and happens earlier in the car's life with the diesel 9-speed version. The transmission control module operates in conjunction with various components such as the engine, brake pedal position sensor, transmission fluid temperature sensor, turbine sensor, and throttle position sensor. If this module malfunctions, it will hinder the transmission's ability to shift gears smoothly and consistently. Consequently, other parts of the vehicle may fail and suffer damages because of improper functionality.
