The 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier is not too particular when it comes to coolant - the recommended type is a 50/50 mix of DEX-COOL. However, it is crucial not to mix different types of coolant in your engine as this could result in a harmful chemical reaction that could damage your engine. It is better to do a complete flush and fill if you are unsure of the coolant in your car, rather than just topping it off. Mixing over 10% of a new coolant with a different type is not good for the vehicle. And just to be clear, never use Coca Cola in your engine, even as a joke!
