For your 2008 Chevy Impala, make sure to use the recommended Orange antifreeze at a 50/50 mix ratio. A good option is the Prestone DEX-COOL coolant, part #AF860, which is approved by GM. It comes pre-diluted so you won't need to add distilled water, and you can find it for around $17 per gallon at Autozone. If you haven't had to add coolant before, you may have a leak to look out for. Specifically, the 3.5 and 3.9 engines are known to have issues with gaskets failing on the coolant crossover pipe, which connects the front and rear heads of the engine. If you notice a coolant smell or see pooled coolant under your car after running it, be sure to investigate and address the issue promptly.

Should I have used the Green antifreeze in the engine, it heated up quickly which was not good. I had to drain the radiator, flush it, and then switch to the Orange antifreeze. The engine performs better now.
