The 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 is equipped with ZereX1 Gallon Yellow 50/50 Coolant/Antifreeze. To change the coolant in the vehicle, start by opening the hood and locating the radiator situated in front of the engine compartment. Attached to the radiator is a plastic container, either clear or black, which serves as the coolant reservoir. This reservoir has a drain plug, fill plug, and a dipstick for measuring the coolant level. If you just need to top up the coolant, measure the amount in the reservoir and add more as needed. However, if you are planning to flush the system, open the drain plug and allow the coolant to flow into a bucket. You can also help the process by pouring water into the container. Once the water flows out relatively clean, close the drain plug, refill the reservoir to the appropriate level indicated by the dipstick, replace the cap, and you're done.
