In order to change the oil in a 2003 Toyota Camry with a 2.4l inline-4 engine, you should start by ensuring that the car has been turned off and left to cool down for a few hours. This is important because the oil can be very hot, which may cause burns. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug underneath. Place a container underneath the plug and remove it to allow the oil to drain. Let the oil drain completely, which may take about an hour. Once it's done draining, replace the plug and identify the intake port on top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan with 5w30 synthetic oil until it reaches the full mark, being careful not to overfill. It's okay to be slightly underfilled, but overfilling can result in leaks and oil burn off. Once the oil level is correct, close the port, clean up any spills, and you're all set.

In 2003, the Toyota Camry offered two engine options. The standard 2.4L inline-4 in the base model used 4 quarts of 5W30 synthetic oil, while the upgraded 3.0L V6 engine in the higher trim required 5 quarts of the same 5W30 synthetic oil.
