The 2004 Nissan Pathfinder is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that requires 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil in all conditions, or 10W-30 or 10W-40 in temperatures above 0 degrees Fahrenheit. The vehicle can hold 7.3 quarts of oil with a filter, and the drain plug should be torqued to 22-28 ft/lbs. Using the right oil is crucial for maintaining a clean and efficient engine. Oil needs to be changed periodically as it doesn't last indefinitely. It is recommended to change both the oil and filter every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. The typical cost for an oil change ranges from $40 to $50 for labor. The duration of the oil change process varies from 10 to 20 minutes depending on your level of experience.

I have no idea what kind of nonsense you guys are spouting, but when dealing with a colder climate, you should actually use a lower viscosity. You got it all mixed up. And just to clarify, the 2004 Nissan Pathfinder does not require 7.3 quarts of oil; if you try to use that much, you'll mess everything up. Do they even bother to proofread or verify these responses?

In colder weather, it's best to opt for a lower viscosity oil and save the higher viscosity options for warmer climates.

The 2004 Nissan Pathfinder with the 3.5L V6 engine needs 5.3 quarts of 5W30 synthetic oil. If it's really cold out, you can also use 10W30 or 10W40. Make sure to ask your local dealership for advice on what oil to use based on your weather and driving needs in cold conditions.
