If you need to know which oil is correct for your 2013 Ford F-150, then you're in luck. You can choose between Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil or Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil. The 3.5 L EcoBoost engine requires SAE 5W-30 premium synthetic or full synthetic oil. The oil capacity for the 3.7L and 3.5 L EcoBoost engines is 6 quarts. The 5.0 L model needs 7.7 quarts, and the 6.2 L model requires 7 quarts. My advice is to check your oil weekly to ensure you have enough.
You can use 8 quarts for the 5.0 engine and it won't cause any harm if you run it low. Running it slightly under can even increase horsepower. It's not recommended to run it a whole quart low, but it won't cause any issues. In fact, it's better than having too much oil in the engine.
You do not have to use synthetic or synthetic blend motor oil in the 2013 Ford F-150. Just make sure the engine oil meets the Ford specification WSS-M2C946-A, SAE 5W-30 for the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, or WSS-M2C945-A, SAE 5W-20 for the 3.7L, 5.0L, and 6.2L engines, and has the API Certification Mark. The recommended oil capacity for the 2013 Ford F-150 depends on the engine size: 3.7L engine needs 6.0 quarts, 5.0L engine needs 7.7 quarts, and 6.2L engine needs 7.0 quarts of oil.
Here's the paraphrased and revised text:
3.7 liters, equivalent to 6.0 quarts, using SAE 5w-20 oil... 5.0 liters, or 7.7 quarts, requiring SAE 5w-20 oil... 6.2 liters, using 7.0 quarts, with SAE 5w-20 oil... The 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine uses SAE 5w-30 oil.
