In 2013, the BMW X3 requires 5.1 quarts of oil for the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and 6.9 quarts for the 3.0L 6-cylinder engine. It is recommended by BMW to use SAE 0W-30 full synthetic oil whenever you do an oil change. There are two main types of oil available today: synthetic and conventional. Synthetic oil is a more advanced option designed to offer better lubrication and protection for your engine compared to conventional oil. Synthetic oil also has a longer lifespan between changes, only needing to be replaced every 7,500 miles as opposed to 3,500 to 5,000 miles for conventional oil. It is advisable to check your oil once a month to ensure it is clean and undamaged.

Could you tell me what type of coolant the 2013 BMW X3 uses and how much is needed for it?

  • Chris M.

That is motor oil, so you shouldn't pour it into your coolant tank, buddy. Make sure to use G48 Coolant from O'Reilly Auto Parts instead.
