For a 2014 Ford Escape 1.6 EcoBoost, it's recommended to use Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil or an equivalent that meets Ford specification WSS-M2C945-A. Make sure to use oils that are approved for gasoline engines by the American Petroleum Institute (API). It's a good idea to check the oil level regularly, ideally every time you fill up with gas. To do this, pull out the dipstick, clean it, reinsert it completely, then take it out again and ensure the oil level is between the full and low indicators. If the level is too low, add oil until it reaches the full mark after removing the oil filler cap. The Escape's oil capacity is 4.3 quarts, and remember to change it when the Engine oil change due message appears on the display.
