The 2015 VW Passat 1.8 TSI requires 5 quarts of either SAE 5W-30 or 5W-40 synthetic oil, with one type suitable for winter and the other for normal driving conditions. To change the oil in the car, ensure that the vehicle has been turned off and parked for a few hours to let the engine cool. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug underneath. Place a bucket under the plug and remove it to allow the oil to drain into the pan. Wait until it stops dripping, which might take around an hour. Once it’s done draining, reinstall the plug and then find the intake port on top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan using a funnel, making sure not to overfill. It’s okay to go a little under, but too much could cause leaks and oil burning. Close the port, clean any spilled oil, and you’re all set.
