The 2019 Toyota Highlander uses synthetic oil with a viscosity rating of 0W-20 and holds 6.3 quarts. Before changing the oil, ensure the car has been turned off for a few hours to let the engine cool down. Locate the oil pan and drain plug underneath the car, place a bucket beneath the plug, and remove it to allow the oil to drain completely. Once it has stopped dripping, replace the drain plug and refill the oil through the intake port on the oil pan using a funnel. Be careful not to overfill, as this can cause leaks and oil burn off. Once filled, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.

The 2019 Toyota Highlander is designed to use a full synthetic oil, specifically SAE 0W-20, for both its 4-cylinder and V6 engines. The 2.7L 4-cylinder engine requires 4.4 quarts of oil, while the 3.5L V6 engine can hold up to 5.8 quarts of oil.

SAE 0W-20 is highly recommended for optimal fuel efficiency and smooth cold weather starts. If SAE 0W-20 is unavailable, SAE 5W-20 can be substituted. The 3.5 L V6 engine requires 5.8 quarts with the filter and 5.6 quarts without it.
