The 2004 Chevy Silverado uses Dexron III ATF as its transfer case fluid. The transmission is a critical component of the vehicle, and experiencing issues is inevitable. Problems such as harsh shifting, jerking, gear sticking, shuddering, delayed shifts affecting acceleration, or fluid leaks must be addressed promptly. Regular fluid replacement every 30,000 to 60,000 miles is necessary to maintain optimal performance. Neglecting this maintenance, along with a worn torque converter, can result in unpleasant noises and transmission slipping, causing significant troubles.
