In a 2008 Chevy Silverado, Dexron II is the recommended transfer case fluid. The transmission plays a vital role in the vehicle, and issues are bound to arise at some point. These issues may manifest as shudders, hard shifts, jerking, stuck gears, delayed shifts causing acceleration problems, and potential slipping of the transmission. It is important to address any transmission fluid leaks promptly and to adhere to regular fluid replacement intervals of every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Neglecting fluid changes can lead to unpleasant sounds emanating from the transmission, indicating old and deteriorated fluid. A worn-out torque converter can also create complications and should be addressed promptly.
