To change the transmission fluid in a 2001 Ford Sport Trac, you'll need Mobil 1 Synthetic Transmission Fluid Dexron/Mercon in 1 quart size. Start by ensuring the car is parked on level ground and then open the hood. Find the transmission fluid reservoir, located near or on the transmission itself, and locate the dipstick. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and pull it out again to check the fluid level. Take note of the current fluid level and the amount needed to fill the reservoir. Use a funnel to add fluid until it reaches the full mark, being careful not to overfill. Close the reservoir and you're good to go.
