The primary issue with power steering in the 2010 Kia Soul is often related to low power steering fluid levels. When the fluid is low, turning the wheel becomes significantly challenging. If you detect a leak, you may need to replace the line, but in any case, adding fluid is necessary. To change the power steering fluid, start by locating the container under the hood near the window - it will have a clear plastic appearance. Use a pump to extract all the fluid from the container. As the fluid decreases, turn the steering wheel all the way to one side and then to the other to allow any remaining fluid to drain into the container for removal. Once the container is empty, refill it up to the full line, ensuring not to overfill. It may take some time for the steering wheel to loosen up, so it's advisable to drive for about 20 minutes to confirm that the adjustment was successful.
