The 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 truck is equipped with three different speaker sizes that are conveniently positioned throughout the vehicle's interior. The corner dash speakers are each 3.5 inches in diameter, while the kick panel speakers are 6.5 inches each, and the front door frame speakers measure 6 x 9 inches. If you encounter a faulty speaker, start by checking the wires and connections for any loose or damaged components. If the speaker itself is the issue, you will need to replace it. The cost of replacing one speaker can vary from $48 to over $372, depending on factors like where you buy it, its power rating, and the brand.

The front speakers are the right size at 6x9, but the rear doors only fit 5.25 speakers. I have the door panel removed as I'm writing this, and I attempted to install 6.5 speakers, but they definitely do not fit.

The measurement for the back door is 5.25, not 6.5 as previously assumed.

The 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 is equipped with 3.5-inch corner dashboard speakers, 6x9-inch speakers in the front doors, and 6.5-inch black component speakers in the kick panels.

No one ever specifies the brand of speakers that fit shallow spaces, as most end up hitting the window when rolled down. I am still searching for the perfect ones.

In 2-door Rams, 6½" speakers are placed in the rear corners behind the seats, while 4-door Rams have 5¼" speakers in the rear doors. This explains the varying rear speaker sizes you may have noticed. I hope this information is useful to you.

I own a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 and I was checking the speakers online. It indicates that the factory speakers are 6x9, but I'm wondering if I can replace them with 8-inch speakers instead.

I recently upgraded my Chrysler's factory speakers to Rockford Fosgate punch series 6x9 and 5 1/4 speakers. This required me to trim a little bit of material in the rear doors to accommodate the new speakers and create screw holes. Similarly, I had to trim 3/8 of an inch on the long sides of the front door for the new speakers to fit properly and ensure the screw holes lined up. The reason for these modifications was that the Fosgate speakers are wider than the original factory ones.

The front measures 6 by 9 inches, while the back is 5.25 inches. I originally tried to use a 6.25-inch piece, but had to make some adjustments to make it work. It wasn't a big deal, but I'm happy I was able to figure it out.
