I own a mk7.5 with a CR2025 battery. To remove the key, press the button and there will be a space where the key is placed when closed. Open the cover by lifting it up (it's pretty simple). Remember to replace the old battery with a new one right away to avoid reprogramming. If you wait too long, you may have to reprogram the key.

In 2017, my Golf 7.5 requires a CR 2025 battery for its key fob; a CR 2032 battery is not compatible with it.
