The 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 requires dot 3 brake fluid for maintenance. If you need to change the brake fluid, the process can vary in complexity depending on whether you simply need to top off the fluid or if you need to bleed the brakes. If you just need to add more fluid, you can locate the intake port under the car's hood, unscrew the cap, and check the fluid level between the MIN and FULL lines. Fill it close to the FULL line, screw the cap back on, and you're finished. However, if you need to bleed the brakes, start by raising the car with a jack and removing the tires. Begin with the back wheels, find the bleeder valve, attach rubber tubing, open the valve, press the brake pedal, collect the fluid in a bucket, and repeat for each wheel until no more fluid comes out. Finally, reinstall the tires and refill the brake fluid as needed.
