The 2004 Subaru Forester uses ZereX 1 Gallon Green 50/50 Coolant/Antifreeze. To change the coolant, start by locating the radiator under the hood in front of the engine compartment. The radiator will have a plastic reservoir attached to it, with a drain plug, fill plug, and dipstick. Check the coolant level using the dipstick and top up if needed. For a flush, open the drain plug and let the coolant flow into a bucket, adding water to aid the process. When the flushed water runs clear, close the drain plug, refill the reservoir to the marked line, and replace the cap.
