In order to change the oil in a 2011 Ford Focus, start by ensuring that the car has been turned off and allowed to cool down for a few hours. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment, find the drain plug underneath, and position a bucket to catch the old oil as you remove the plug. Let the oil drain completely, which may take about an hour. Once the oil has stopped dripping, replace the drain plug. Next, find the intake port on top of the oil pan and use a funnel to fill it with Valvoline synthetic motor oil 5w-20. Be careful not to overfill, as this can cause leaks and oil burn off. After filling the oil pan, close the port, clean up any spills, and you're all set.
