The recommended gasoline for the 2017 Chevy Suburban is regular unleaded 87 octane gas at a minimum. Using anything lower than that could potentially harm your vehicle over time. If your model is marked as E85, you also have the option of using FlexFuel (E85). Before filling up with FlexFuel, be sure to check your owner's manual to confirm your vehicle's compatibility. The Suburban has a fuel tank capacity of 31 gallons, but it is not the most fuel-efficient vehicle. On average, you can expect around 16 mpg in the city and about 23 mpg on the highway.
The Suburban may not be the most fuel-efficient car due to its size and reliance on a powerful 5.3L V8 engine. It can achieve around 26 mpg in the city and up to 23 mpg on the highway. Fortunately, the manufacturer suggests that regular gas is suitable for this engine, allowing consumers to save some money on fuel costs.
