The type of fuel needed for Your 2018 Volkswagen Jetta will depend on its trim level. The 1.8T and 1.4T models can run perfectly fine on regular gasoline with an octane of 87. However, the 2.0T models will require premium fuel with an octane of 91 or higher. Regardless of the Jetta model, the maximum fuel tank capacity is 14.5 US gallons. The fuel efficiency, measured in MPG, varies among the models but is generally quite good.
The 2018 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0T GLI requires premium unleaded fuel exclusively. On the other hand, the 1.4T SE (available in both automatic and manual), the 1.4T S (available in both automatic and manual), and the 1.4T Wolfsburg Edition (available in both automatic and manual) all run on regular unleaded gasoline. Similarly, the 1.8T SE Sport and the 1.8T SEL models are also compatible with regular unleaded gasoline.
What happens if I inadvertently use 87 fuel in my 2018 Jetta GLI without realizing it?
