Since premium gas is more expensive, there is no need to spend the extra money on it. It is important to note that the Chevy Silverado cannot run on diesel at all. If diesel is mistakenly put into the gas tank, the vehicle should not be started. Instead, it should be towed to a shop immediately for the diesel to be pumped out. Attempting to start the engine with diesel in the tank will cause severe damage, and leaving the fuel to sit can also result in harm to the vehicle.
