The 2003 Cadillac Escalade should be filled with premium unleaded fuel of at least 91 octane, according to the factory specifications. It is important to use this higher grade fuel as it provides the necessary detonation resistance and air compression for the engine to run smoothly. Lower quality gasoline can lead to timing problems with the pistons, resulting in reduced performance and fuel efficiency. In addition, using lower quality fuel can cause a ticking noise in the engine. Maintaining the recommended octane rating is crucial for prolonging the life of the fuel system and ensuring efficient operation of the vehicle.
I've been using regular 87 gasoline without any issues. I always add an octane booster to the 87 gas and haven't had any problems. My truck is still running well after 4 years of owning it.
I've put 87 in it and haven't had any issues, even with 385,000 miles on the car.
The Escalade is specifically made to run on 91 octane fuel. Although it is possible to use 87 octane gas, it is advised against due to the risk of potential engine knocking and long-term damage to the engine.
