This 2017 Chevy Impala runs on regular unleaded gasoline with 87 octanes and has a fuel tank capacity of 18.5 gallons. Although you have the option to use premium gas with 91 octanes, it doesn't provide any additional benefit and will cost you more. Under no circumstances should you use diesel fuel. If you accidentally put diesel in the tank, do not start the car and have it towed to a mechanic immediately. Starting the engine with diesel fuel can damage it, resulting in costly repairs. Even letting the fuel sit in the tank for a few hours can cause damage to the tank and fuel line.
There is a variety of viewpoints on whether premium or regular gasoline is more beneficial for your engine. Car makers may suggest a particular type depending on how well the engine performs in the vehicle. While some individuals adhere to these guidelines, others do not. For example, even though the manufacturer advises using regular gas in the Impala, they have observed no performance variation when using premium gas.
