To change the oil in a 2004 Dodge Neon, you'll need 4 US quarts of 5w-30 synthetic oil. Before starting, ensure the car has been turned off and parked for a couple of hours to cool down the hot oil. Locate the oil pan and drain plug, positioned underneath the engine compartment. Place a bucket under the plug, remove it, and let the oil drain completely, which could take around an hour. Once it stops dripping, replace the plug. Next, locate the intake port on top of the oil pan and, using a funnel, fill it with oil up to the full mark, being careful not to overfill. It's okay to be slightly under the full mark, but overfilling can cause leaks and oil burn off. Close the port securely, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.
