In the year 2009, the Ford Taurus utilizes Motorcraft's SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil. To change the oil in the car, start by ensuring the vehicle has been turned off and parked for a few hours to avoid burning yourself on the hot oil. Locate the oil pan and drain plug in the engine compartment, place a bucket underneath, and remove the plug to allow the old oil to drain out completely, which may take around an hour. Once the dripping stops, replace the drain plug and find the intake port on top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan using a funnel until it reaches the full mark, being careful not to overfill to prevent leaks and oil burn off. Secure the port, clean up any spilled oil, and your job is done.
Ford suggests using Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 oil or a similar alternative for the 200 Taurus to achieve the best fuel efficiency performance for the vehicle's engine.
