The 2014 Volkswagen Passat TDI requires 5.8 US quarts of 5W-30 synthetic oil for an oil change. To begin, ensure the car has been parked and turned off for a few hours to allow the engine to cool down. Locate the oil pan and drain plug beneath the engine. Place a bucket under the plug, remove it, and let the oil drain out completely, which may take about an hour. Once the dripping stops, reinstall the drain plug. Next, find the oil intake port on top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan to the full level, being careful not to overfill. It's okay to go a bit under, but avoid overfilling to prevent leaks and oil burn off. After filling, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done with the oil change.
