The Chevrolet Express 2500 requires full synthetic 5w-30 oil for an oil change. Before beginning the process, ensure the vehicle has been turned off and parked for a couple of hours to allow the engine to cool down. To start, locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug underneath. Place a bucket beneath the plug, remove it, and let the oil drain into the pan until it stops dripping, which may take about an hour. After draining, reattach the plug and identify the intake port on the top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan to the full mark, being cautious not to overfill. Slightly under-filling is acceptable, but overfilling can cause leaks and oil burning off. Once the pan is filled, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and your oil change is complete.
