The 2010 Nissan Maxima requires sae 5w-30 viscosity oil for an oil change. To begin the oil change, ensure the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to avoid burns from hot oil. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug underneath. Place a bucket beneath the plug and remove it to allow the oil to drain into the pan. Let it drain completely, which could take about an hour. Once the oil has stopped dripping, reinstall the drain plug and look for the intake port on top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan using a funnel until it reaches the full level, avoiding overfilling to prevent leaks and oil burn-off. After filling, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and your oil change is complete.
