In all models of the 2016 GMC Yukon, there are four engine options available, excluding the Denali and XL versions. You can choose from a 5.3L V8 or a 6.2L V8 engine, each offered in either regular gasoline or Flex Fuel versions. Regardless of the engine type you select, they all require 8.0 quarts of SAE 0W-20 full synthetic motor oil in any weather conditions. While you could use SAE 5W-20 as a short-term substitute, it's not recommended because it can create extra friction within your engine. Using a higher viscosity oil, indicated by the weight number, can force your engine to work harder, leading to increased wear and potential early breakdown. It's advisable to stick with the 0W-20 oil whenever possible, even though it may be slightly pricier.
