Chevrolet recommends using SAE 5W-30 oil for the 2.4L and 3.6L engines in the 2014 Impala. Before starting an oil change, ensure the vehicle has been parked and turned off for a while to avoid dealing with hot oil that could cause burns. Locate the oil pan and drain plug in the engine compartment. Place a container underneath the plug, remove it, and allow the oil to drain completely, which might take about an hour. Once it stops dripping, replace the drain plug and find the oil fill port on top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan using a funnel, making sure not to overfill it as that could result in leaks or oil burning off. It's okay to have a little less oil than full. After filling it up, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.
