Other brands of oil, including synthetic oil, are acceptable as long as they have the API Certification Seal and the same viscosity grade. The RDX features an oil life maintenance system that monitors engine conditions to determine when the oil needs to be changed. When the oil life is running low, the display panel will alert the driver to have the oil changed promptly. It is advisable to check the engine oil level at least once a week, ideally every time you refuel, to maintain good habits.
