In the 2004 Acura MDX, it is recommended to use only Honda power steering fluid. In case of an emergency, you can temporarily use other steering fluids, but it is advised to have the system flushed and replaced with Honda PSF. To check the power steering fluid level, refer to the marks on the side of the reservoir and ensure it falls between the upper and lower indicators. If the level is low, add enough fluid to bring it within the normal range. Avoid overfilling above the upper mark. If the power steering fluid is low, the pump will indicate this by making a squealing noise when you turn the wheel.
You can use Prestone's full synthetic power steering fluid made to replace the original equipment in Asian vehicles for your 2004 Acura MDX.
