The Mercedes-Benz GL450 uses Pentosin CHF 11S fluid for its power steering system. To check the fluid level, start by opening the hood. Inside the driver's door, locate and pull the hood release lever located on the bottom of the kick panel. When you hear the hood pop, go around to the front of the car. Place your hand between the grille and the hood, right in the middle, and move the hood safety latch to the left to lift the hood. The power steering fluid reservoir lies in front of the engine, slightly to the left and below the air duct. Before opening the cap, clear any loose dirt or debris to prevent contamination. Unscrew and lift out the cap, wiping it clean with a cloth. Replace and secure the cap before removing it again to check that the fluid level falls within the Min and Max marks.
