The 2008 Toyota Highlander doesn't have a power steering fluid reservoir that needs topping up, as it uses an electric motor, an EPS electronic control unit (ECU), and sensors for rotation angle and torque inside the steering column. If the motor fails, the steering could suddenly become stiff, or if the ECU malfunctions, it might become unresponsive. The Tundra's ECU determines how much steering assistance to provide based on torque and speed. An EPS system can integrate features like "lane-keep assist," automated lane changes/parking, and detecting "lane drift" and alignment issues. With an EPS system, a vehicle can operate with reduced driver effort and maintenance needs.
