For the 2008 Chevrolet Impala, you should use GM Power Steering Fluid as indicated in the owner's manual (GM Part No. U.S. 89021184, for Canada 89021186). The vehicle can hold up to 0.93 quarts or 0.88 liters of this fluid, with the reservoir situated on the passenger side at the back of the engine compartment. To check the power steering fluid, ensure the vehicle is turned off and cool. Wipe clean the reservoir cap and top, unscrew the cap, remove and wipe the dipstick with a rag. Reinsert the cap tightly, then remove it to check the fluid level on the dipstick.
