In order to replace the power steering fluid in a 2008 Honda Civic, you should use Prestone Power Steering Fluid 12 Ounce. First, locate the clear plastic container under the hood near the window. Using a pump, extract all the fluid from the container. When the fluid level is low, turn the steering wheel from one side to the other to drain the fluid from the wheel into the container. Once the container is empty, refill it to the full line but do not overfill. It may take some time for the steering wheel to loosen up, so drive for about 20 minutes to ensure the process was successful.

Any power steering fluid labeled for "honda" vehicles is suitable for use. The cost is typically around $10 per quart.
